High School Service

High School Servicing

Well this has been a challenging year. We service high school sewing machines from Abbotsford to West Vancouver, White Rock to Maple Ridge. It has been a heavy load this summer. We took on a few new client schools this year which is time consuming.

When the machines are PROPERLY maintained by authorized technicians then servicing is routine,  in fact fun.   When the machines have been maintained by an unauthorized company it’s a nightmare.   Next service season (2018) we will make a video for our youtube channel showcasing the amazing shortcuts taken by some in our industry.

For example we found this incorrect large metal washer installed in a machine when the tiny nylon washer to the right is the correct part.  When the previous service company installed this “hardware store” part they had to drastically alter the geometry of the machine leaving it a clattering wreck.  The stress, strain, and wear this machine was faced with is unacceptable. The inability of the former service person to access factory parts, factory parts lists, and technical factory service manuals was a huge misfortune for the operator of this machine and presented a very real danger of catastrophic failure.  I honestly wonder what kind of vetting the schools put these companies through.

I thank all our store staff along with our mobile customers and commercial clients for their patience as our return times slipped from a couple of days to four or five (sometimes a bit more). We are now back to full strength and regular turn around times.
Thanks!
